Australia must halt political Islam's rise, not appease it
The Australian Government is appeasing rising political Islam. Its policies on Israel and the Palestinians are wrongheaded and confused. Australian Jews have expressed their fears but to no avail.
Australia’s left-wing Government is bowing to growing Islamic forces in the country’s politics. This is allowing sectarianism to get a foothold in one of the world’s oldest and most stable democracies. Australian Jews are vulnerable.
Like many Western countries, Australia is supposedly an Israeli ally. Yet, under Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Labor Government, Australia has become increasingly critical of Israel and its response to Hamas’ October 7 pogrom. The government has also been feeble in stopping rampant antisemitism.
Driving this is the government’s fear of losing seats to candidates running on an explicit pro-Muslim anti-Israel platform - a worrying first for Australian politics - and that many in the ruling Australian Labor Party are Woke antisemitic idiots.
Australia’s leadership is morally defunct. The government’s foreign policy shows it fundamentally misunderstands the Israel-Palestinian dispute. They think Israel and the Palestinians are fighting over territory when it is a battle between a civilized democratic state and genocidal Jihadist maniacs.
Australia’s position is incoherent. The government supports Israel’s right to defend itself yet criticizes it whenever it does so. It condemns Hamas but supports a two-state solution that would reward the October 7 massacre, has no chance of succeeding, and which most Israelis and Palestinians do not want.
The Australian Government is complicit in Palestinian terror against Israel. It continues funding the United Nations Relief Works and Agency (UNRWA) despite it provably being a Hamas-infested terror organization. The government also thinks the Palestinian Authority, which pays terrorists to murder Jews, is a legitimate body when it is a vile and corrupt terrorist group.
The country’s ethically empty foreign minister, Penny Wong, is always quick to condemn Israel based on the biased news cycle, rather than facts, so she gets it wrong more often than not. She seems as indifferent to Israeli suffering as she is to facts.
Australia has adopted a foreign policy and rhetoric based on the lies and blood libel that constitute the Palestinian narrative. This has legitimized these blood libels and contributed to surging antisemitism.
