How Islamists work their way into power
A short piece for paid subscribers on how Islamists make their way into Western corridors of power. This example is from Australia, but the same playbook is used globally.
The Commonwealth of Australia is providing a case study on how Islamist politicians are using the Israel-Hamas War as a trojan horse to pursue wider and more dangerous ambitions. Australia is far from the only place this is happening.
The governing Australian Labor Party is like many left-wing parties. Its members run the gamut from reasonable center-Leftists to Far-Left lunatics. Lurking among the Far Left are the Islamist crazies who are playing an entirely different game. That game is to get Islam into politics.
This brings us to Labor Senator Fatima Payman, who is the first woman to wear a Hijab in Australia’s Parliament, and who had just quit the Australian Labor Party. Despite being elected to represent her state of Western Australia, Payman has decided her job is to represent the Palestinians in a dispute half a world away that Australia has no influence over.
She pursued a calibrated strategy of raising tensions between herself and the party’s leadership over the past month. She crossed the floor - voted against her own government - to vote in support of a motion for Australia to recognize a Palestinian state. Crossing the floor is significant in Australia’s political system, where party discipline reigns supreme.
Payman also wrote an article for Al Jazeera, a Qatar-funded and terror-supporting propaganda outfit that masquerades as a news channel, stating that Australia should recognize a Palestinian state.
These actions have done their job, which was to put her at odds with her party’s leader, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. He subsequently suspended her from the party’s caucus.
This rebuke - not for her position, but for breaking party discipline - was absurdly mild. Yet, she has cynically exploited it by playing the victim card and saying she had been “exiled” and “lost all contact with my caucus colleagues. I have been removed from caucus meetings, committees, internal group chats, and whip bulletins. I have been told to avoid all chamber duties that require a vote including divisions, motions and matters of public interest.”
She then quit the party and even shed a few crocodile tears when announcing it. This hyperbole clears the way for her to pursue her real agenda, which is to leave the Labor Party and work with an Islamic political movement called The Muslim Vote. She hopes to help build it from inside the Senate. She has shored up her credentials with her target constituents by repeating lies of Israeli genocide and stating she was guided “by God.”
Payman has even consulted with famed Australian political operative Glenn Druery, who specializes in helping minor parties succeed. Druery has admitted that he has held "informal conversations with the Muslim community" about election strategies.
The Muslim Vote is not a political party; it calls itself a “movement”. However, it says it is targeting two Labor-held seats in Western Sydney that it believes it can influence.
The movement was established after the October 7 attack in which Islamist Hamas terrorists sadistically raped and murdered 1200 Israelis and took 240 hostages. Lest anyone be in doubt about their real agenda, consider that the Muslim Vote movement was not moved to action by the death of half a million Muslims in Syria, or by China’s internment of almost a million Muslim Uygurs in concentration camps. No, they disgustingly became animated by the worst murder of Jews since the Holocaust.
